A break from all things school

SO, I am one month into summer. I thought it would be fitting to give a glimpse into the first month, and then maybe what is to come in the next 2.

-I cannot believe it has been a month. Wierdness. In some ways it feels longer, but in other ways shorter. It is like a grand paradox of the ages.

-I have been doing lots of biking. I put over 200 miles on my bike this month. I am on my way to losing my weight and getting healthy once again.

- I have been enjoying sleeping in. It has been wonderful. That part of summer stops now since I start my summer job in the morning. I work every morning. Maybe I will learn to be a morning person by the end of the summer :).

- I have played at Highlands Fellowship the last 2 Sundays and LOVED IT. There was great excitement at every service Great worship, great people. God is working. Can't argue with that.

- I miss Kami. She has left me to go back to NGU and work for the rest of the summer for support staff. She loves it, and I am happy for her, but I do miss her sweet smile.

- I love this Panera bread in Kingsport. I think I may come here every day (maybe not every day, but I really do like it). Good food, lots of bread, and FREE WIFI!!!! I must be in heaven.

- I have been craving coffee lately. I drink coffee almost every day anyway, but lately I have been wanting it all the time.

-Went to DollyWood. Watch video a few posts below to see what happened there.

- Doing some deign and video work this summer. I am trying to get as much in this summer as possible.

I have done a lot more than this, but I just ran out of energy to continue typing....

more to come. I know, I have neglected the 'ol blog this month. I will do better, I promise :).

Making the switch

I think I am going to make the switch to wordpress tonight. I am in the process of importing my blog as I type.

If I get it set up and like it, I will make a post that will give you all the link to the new blog.

Be back soon

Better Questions

With all this Calvinism talk these days...lets take a minute and let some british kids ask this pastor some "better" questions...

Enjoy.

wow. I have no words...Kids are just amazing.

I think I can use this somewhere.

Hey, don't complain...

you could have had this family photo taken...

I feel bad for the dad.

Man card- gone.

The Chopping Block

Hair is cut.

No, I did not shave it off...(thank you Kami...)

Here is a nice little before/after shot to show what went down today.

1. I keep shaking my head...and my hair does not move with me any longer
2. I feel like I have a "ghost limb" except "ghost hair"
3. I do not miss the hassle
4. I do miss the curls...
5. Although it felt much better biking today, so that is a plus.
6. I think I will wear a fo-hawk tomorrow to commemorate my new hair.

I think I am going to like it, although I really do miss my long hair.

Music, Biking, and such

Dear Summer.

I am glad you are here. I have been waiting for you for a while now.

I want to get the most out of your while you are around, so I think I should make a list (and maybe check over it again...).

Here is what I want to accomplish this Summer. I think I do better if I make plans rather than just say stuff...

- Lose 15-20 pounds. I need to get in shape. I am really loving biking, and I think that is what I will use to lose the weight.
-with that thought in mind
-Be able to ride 100k before summer's end and do it more than once). This is my biggest goal for the summer, and it is something that I have wanted to do for a while now. There is just something I love about biking, and I have really been excited about riding since I have been home and this is something I really want to do.

- Actually practice guitar. I play guitar all the time. But it is usually at church, practicing for church, or practicing for a gig or something of that nature. I hardly ever sit and play my guitar with the intent of self improvement. This is an area I want to change this summer. I want to make time to sit and learn and improve my skills on the guitar.

- Read, read, read. I want to read as many books as I can. I enjoy reading (now); that was not always the case. I want to learn from others, be stretched, inspired, and maybe just find something that I can enjoy. This is an area I could use some help in. I need to find some books I can just read for fun; something fiction that I can just sink into. I am good with the non-fiction side, but I would really like something good that is fiction. Please comment with any suggestions :).

- Listen to music. New music. I am trying to get out of a musical rut. I feel like I am finding new stuff now, but I want to really jump into new artists and such This is another area you can help. I need new bands to listen to and I am pretty much up for anything (except country...I know, I am from TN and do not like country...sorry). SO, send your suggestions my way.

More to come later, now it is time for sleep

Thinking about having a "real blog"

So, I have been thinking a lot about getting my own domain name and website (Blogger, I like you, but you just cannot do everything I want to do...)

ok. Here is where I need your help faith friends and readers.

What service do I use? What is the cheapest/ and or best way to go about it? who do I use for my host site?

I am not really sure what service I need, but I know what I want to be able to do...maybe that will help you help me.

Here is a short list of things I want to do with my site.
- Be able to have different pages on my site. It could be a tab style, or a drop down menu
- I would like to be able to upload videos, portfolios, and article content.
- I would like to have a page for contact info and other stuff
- I would like a good deal, that is easy to use and work with

If anyone has any pointers and/ or suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.

Be Back Soon

Done with school. 4.0. Now I am at the planning retreat for BSU. Next semester is going to be the jam; you will not want to miss it if you go to NGU.

SO, I will be home Thursday, but for now, the planning is underway.

I am pumped about where we are going, but it is going to be a lot of work. I am really feeling the weight of the responsibility that God has allowed me to be a part of. Next semester for me (when i say me, I mean me and music) is going to be all about casting vision, investing in lives, and creating musical excellence. It is going to be off the chain (I am not sure if I am cool enough to say that...)

Ok, time for bed. I am exhausted. See you later
