Love has come

As Easter Sunday is this weekend, I was reminded of a verse in Luke 19. Jesus is coming into the city and He goes over the mount of Olives and sees Jerusalem. Verse 41 says, " When He approached jerusalem, He saw the city and wept over it."

This city, the city that was going to turn on Him( even His closest friends). This city, where He performed many miracles and signs was going to torture Him. They were going to soon trade Him for Barabbas, a criminal for the Lamb of God. This city, where He would be mounted to a cross to bear the guilt, sin, and shame of the world. This is the city that He wept over. He did not just sob a little or get a tear in His eye; Jesus wept. As I read that verse, I was reminded of the love that Christ has given unto us. Love had come; love had come to suffer and die, and then to rise from the dead!

Love has come, and His name is Jesus. That is Easter.

Jesus wept for the lost and unsaved; He knew what was set before Him. The time had come for Jesus to show the world His unfailing, unending love.

Love has come.
