Foreknowledge of God

Last night at BSU, Jody read 1 Peter 1:2 which says, "who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying of the spirit for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling by His blood"

There are a few different camps of ideas when it comes to the foreknowledge of God (it is also a big point of argument on this campus... which drives me a little crazy).

Jody made a great remark on this, and gave some great perspective that I think everyone can benefit from.

We can get so caught up in discussing (arguing) about subjects like the foreknowledge of God that we are forgetting the whole point.

The point of it all is REDEMPTION

That is what it all comes back to, God wants to redeem us and bring us into relationship with Him.

When you think about arguing about foreknowledge, worship styles, and how many points Calvin should have had in the light of REDEMPTION, it seems a little silly.

Because at the end of the day, people are dying and entering into eternity without Christ while we sit in our Christian circles and argue till we are blue in the face. I think we all need a perspective change.

If you go NGU, you should really check out BSU on Thursday nights at 7pm in Turner Chapel. I think it going to be a great year. I am already being stretched in so many ways.
